One of the most awesome aspects of planning a cruise is choosing the
destination.  As you will learn from this article, the cruise line
industry today has expanded destinations, lengths of voyages, types
of amenities, and excursions to meet high passenger demand.  Cruises
are extremely popular because they offer tremendous fun, a way of
meeting new people, and a chance to visit other parts of the world for an
amazing price.  Considering that the food and entertainment, as well as
some excursions are included in the price, you are getting a wonderful
opportunity that is very affordable.

Choosing the cruise destination should be an exciting time, a chance to
go somewhere new, some place you have never been before.  Perhaps you
want a warm destination that might include the Bahamas or Caribbean, a
true adventure of South Africa where you can meet with local tribesmen,
something distinct and sophisticated such as Europe, or perhaps
something completely out of the ordinary to include China and the
Yangtze River or Russia!  To give you some ideas, we have put together a

Alaska has become a very popular destination for cruise ships in that
passengers can see amazing wildlife and nature unlike any other place
on the planet.  This remote state is breathtakingly beautiful and
an amazing adventure when seen up close from a cruise ship.  Keep in mind
that because Alaska is generally a cold-weather cruise, the prices are
generally very reasonable.  Depending on the cruise line you choose,
you can take a one-way cruise or a round-trip cruise.

The Bahamas is very popular and an excellent cruise regardless of the
time of year.  You can choose from a three-day cruise or longer.
This cruise includes ports of calls to islands in the Atlantic Ocean
where you can enjoy a tropical flavor of white sandy beaches, blue
skies, palm trees, and Pina Coladas.  In addition, the Caribbean is a
wonderful cruise that takes you to various islands in the Atlantic
Ocean.  Generally, this cruise would last one week and depart from
places such as San Juan, Texas, Florida, or New Orleans.  Once on the
islands, you can lay out in the sun, swim, shop, or take long hikes.  In
addition, the ports from the Caribbean cruise are ideal for nightlife
where you can party late into the night.

Another exceptional warm-weather destination is Bermuda.  This week
long cruise includes just one island so the cruise ship is considered a
"floating hotel".  This means while staying on the cruise ship, you
would have the opportunity to go on and off the island where you can take
in some beautiful sights, go on tours, shop, and so on.  Because the
weather and island of Bermuda are so perfect, this has always been a
perfect choice.  A Hawaiian cruise is also wonderful destination that
that lasts from one to two weeks.  The only downfall to a Hawaiian cruise
is that you would only have a day or two on the islands.  Therefore, if you
want to experience Hawaii in greater depth, you could fly to the main
island, spend some time touring, and then take a cruise ship back to the
mainland.

Mexico and the South Pacific Islands are two other cruise destinations
that offer perfect weather and tremendous ports of call.  For Mexico,
the voyage would take you to Cozumel and Cancun while the South Pacific
islands would include the French Polynesia and Tahiti.  These are both
very romantic, peaceful places that are perfect for singles or couples
of any age.

Both Asia and Australia are wonderful cruise ship destinations.  While
these were not as popular as some of the other destinations just a few
years back, today cruise lines have added these destinations to their
schedule, perfect for winter months.  In fact, some cruise ships now
travel to Asia and Australia as part of the "round-the-world" cruise.
Finally, European destinations are considered sophisticated and
distinct.  The great thing about choosing Europe is that Mediterranean
cruises set sail all year long while the northern parts of Europe are
offered during the summer months.
